BRAC Bank Plc has launched the 'Taka Pay' card under the National Card Scheme under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank.

The Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this national card scheme in a ceremony at Ganobhaban on 1 November 2023. Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukdar and senior officials of Bangladesh Bank were present on the occasion. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BRAC Bank Salim R. F. Hussain and other officials of the bank attended the function virtually.

As the only bank, BRAC Bank will provide both Issuing and Acquiring services from the beginning. This payment scheme, the first of its own in Bangladesh, ushered in a historic era in the banking sector.
