Celebrated the international mother language day in our School
The 21st of February is International Mother Language Day, a day that promotes the preservation and protection of all languages. This day was chosen to commemorate those who were killed during the 1952 Bengali Language Movement. The movement was against the government's decision for Urdu to be the sole official language. This decision ignored the Bengali-speaking population of East Pakistan (modern-day Bangladesh). Today, 40% of the world's population do not have access to education in a language they speak or understand. International Mother Language Day is an opportunity to celebrate the world's linguistic diversity. Our School celebrated the day like every year. On this day I get up early and bathe. I wear new cloth and went to school in the morning. My father and younger sister came with me. we reached at 8 am. The function began at 9 am. The students and teachers are wearing black badges and went to shaheed Minar in a barefoot procession. we sang mourning song and place flowers as a sign of respect. After replacing the flowers, the program began. Our headteacher discussed international mother language day. In the program, there was a debate competition about the country song. I participated in the program and got first prize. I was very happy to get first prize. The program ends when the cheap Guest ends the discussion. I am proud of the international mother language. Because we got the language by a bloody war.
