The Winter Lake Movie Review and Spoiler

Genre: Thriller

Runtime: 92 minutes

Originally from Emma Mackey, famous for her sex education. The story begins with a fragment of the life of Tom and his mother, Elaine, a newcomer to Muffsball. Tom is a big introvert, lonely. His hobby is collecting animal bones while wandering in the depths of the forest. Always keep a knife in your pocket to clean and smooth the inside of the bones! This often leads to unrest with the mother. Tom also goes silent in front of his mother's words, not wanting to spend time talking.

So this one-sided lifestyle suddenly changes when they become friends with the neighboring elderly Ward and his daughter Holly. Tom also tries to break himself a little bit in the usual manner of Free-Spirited Holly.

The quiet, suffocating atmosphere of the muffs all throughout the picture is certainly admirable. I like Emma Mackie as Holly and Charlie Murphy as Elaine. The problem is the very slow pacing of the picture.

Several scenes are unnecessarily long. The scenes that could have been further elaborated --- such as the conversation between Holly and her father Ward --- seem to have been left to fill up on the audience. In this way, the relationship between Tom and Elaine has developed a lot on a small scale. Moreover, there is not much twist in the second half, it feels a little pale after the first half.
