Let's all be vocal in protecting wildlife - Happy World Wildlife Day to all
This year's theme is "Forests and Livelihoods: Sustainable People and Planets"
At the 7th session of the UN General Assembly on December 20, 2013, Thailand called for the declaration of March 3 as World Wildlife Day at the International Conference on Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
Animals and plants living in the wild have a unique value and contribute to the ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreational, and aesthetic aspects of human welfare and sustainable development.
World Wildlife Day is an opportunity to celebrate the various beautiful and diverse events of wildlife and plants and to make people aware of the benefits that their conservation provides. At the same time, the day reminds us of the urgent need to fight wildlife crime and human-induced depletion of species, which has far-reaching economic, environmental, and social implications. Given these various negative effects, the goal of sustainable development focuses on preventing biodiversity loss.
