The Senate cast a ballot to clear previous President Trump of impelling the January 6 mob at the Capitol in his second reprimand preliminary. Seven Republicans joined all Democrats in democratic "Blameworthy" for a lion's share of 57 votes – yet Democrats neglected to get the 66% dominant part expected to convict.
The Republicans who got together with the Democrats were: Richard Burr of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.
