The cricket world watched a tense T20 match NZ vs AUS 2021 |
The cricket world watched a tense T20 match. The cricket world saw a great match in the second match of the New Zealand-Australia T20 series.
Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. In reply, Guptill, Williamson, and Nissam batted hard to give New Zealand a huge target of 220 runs. Chasing this huge target, they got off to a good start. The Australians lost the first wicket for 34 runs. Stayed but captain Finch could not get along well with him.
Those who came after that gave away the wickets and made the match one-sided, but in that 6-wicket partnership, Stones and Daniel returned to the match in a very aggressive 50+ partnership. Daniel needed 15 runs in the last over to make a big hit in the first ball and that was the end of Australia's hopes.
Stones hit 15 runs in the last three balls and hit the six again. But in the next ball, he went to play the big shot again and got caught out. Ajira could not avoid the loss as the new batsman hit 4 in the last ball. They had to accept defeat by only 4 runs. Harley and they deserve to be praised for such a great chase with such a big target.
>> What an insane encounter this was!
Australia was 122 for 6 after 14. Then-
MARCUS STOINIS - 78(37)
DANIEL SAMS - 41(15)
Scored 92 runs in the last 6 overs,
Took it closer,
But lost it in the final over by 4 runs.
New Zealand won the 2nd T20I & lead the series by 2-0.
** Martin Guptill is a Kiwi who missed a century in the second match of the ongoing Australia vs New Zealand T20 series. Although he could not overcome the regret of 3 runs, the craftsman who was afraid of the big collection of the team has touched a personal milestone. After today's innings, Guptill has risen to the top of the list of highest sixes in T20I, beating Indian Rohit Sharma.
> Rohit 128
> Morgan 113
> Monroe 108
> Gayle 105
> Finch 97
Needless to say, the battle in the top 2 of the list will be fairly enjoyable in the days ahead.
