Malcolm and Marie Movie Review and Spoiler
Malcolm and Marie Movie Review and Spoiler |
01. The story of the movie Malcolm and Marie is about a couple's one-night argument. The various insecurities of the two and the unspoken allegations against each other that arose from one debate. Very slowly that argument takes the form of a hard fight. Sometimes they get married and then they spend some moments of love but after a while that pride again, that complaint again. But is their love so fragile that it will break a 5-year relationship without being able to cope with the difficult situation overnight?
02. What I like most about this movie is the way the story of a couple with so much reality is portrayed. Really but couples fight like this. This sudden quarrel this sudden love. Then someone remembers something that happened a long time ago and that old pride comes up again. Each dialogue will tell you something new about our main characters. As their quarrel progresses, it becomes clear what the relationship is like between them and what changes and circumstances they have brought to the present stage of their five-year relationship.
03. This movie is completely a dialogue-based movie. There is no separate location or mindblowing outdoor scenery. There is only Malcolm, Marie, and their 4 walled house. So the chemistry between Malcolm and Marie is the most important to make this movie impactful. And what great chemist actor John David Washington and actress Zendaya put up is beyond words. Seeing the level of chemistry and intimacy in their performances, it didn't seem that they were really a couple. No one went less than anyone towards acting. But I know why John David Washington likes this character so much. His every word seemed to hold me back to the movie from beginning to end. So that's not to say that Zendaya wasn't good. Zendaya has acted heartbreakingly in some scenes which I was fascinated to see. But I have seen him perform so well before and already have an idea about his caliber.
04. In this movie, all the thoughts of the two have been highlighted. No one was given more or less priority. It will suddenly seem that Malcolm is right, Marie Ayotha is misunderstanding him, then it will suddenly seem that Marie is right in her place, then it seems Malcolm's fault. But one thing that is often understood is that the two of them love each other very much through their chatter but sometimes along with love they should show respect and gratitude to each other. Otherwise, such misunderstandings will arise. Maybe no one wanted to hurt anyone on purpose, but many things said in the middle of a fight hurt. The whole movie has been kept in black and white to show that no one is completely positive or negative about a relationship. The end of the movie is also quite realistic which I like.
Finally:
I definitely recommend everyone to watch this movie. Those who like pure drama will watch the movie at least once.
