Apple 16 inch MacBook Pro 2021 - Release Date and Price and Analysis
MacBook pro-16-inch release date and price and also more details on
how powerful the apple silicon processor the m1x
will be for the 16-inch MacBook pro-2021 model
so if you want to hear the latest gaming
news tech news reviews and comparisons hit
that subscribe button followed by the bell
so in 2021, I believe we're going to see
loads of new macs with new designs and greater
apple silicon chips inside currently we have the
new MacBook Pro the MacBook air and the new mac
mini with the m1 chipset inside them apple said
in 2020 that there would be a two-year transition
of moving all of its macs over to its own chipsets
and this includes all the Imac pro and
the newly designed mac book pro 14 inches and also
a newly designed MacBook Pro 16-inch model today
i want to focus more on that MacBook pro 16 inch
model so let's start with the latest leak and
that is on the design of the 16-inch MacBook pro
so the leak tells us that a redesigned MacBook pro
could see apple bring back the much love MagSafe
charger and also ditched the controversial
touch bar at the same time the news comes
from a longtime apple analyst minshuku by mac
rumors who has been super accurate with leaks
and collaborated by Bloomberg's mark german's
the tweet showed here as well some of these concepts
that I'm showing to you is based on these design
changes all these changes are big news and not
just because the MacBook pros design has stayed
the same since the launch of the touch bar in 2016
even though the iMac has been nine years
having the same design since 2012 but that is a
completely different story but magsay for example
was one of the MacBook's better selling points but
it vanished when Apple switched over to USB c port
on the new type of MacBooks that we have right now
we did get a new MagSafe with the iPhone 12
last year but it was a very different technology
relying on QR wireless charging rather than the
breakaway power cables of the old MacBooks that
use a magnet and four pins to charge the actual
the device the only question is how different the
MacBook's MagSafe will be compared to the iPhone
12 version according to german it will be similar
to the pill-shaped design of the old MagSafe
connectors and will connect to the MacBook's
charging port but there are some other changes too
according to the new MacBook, pros will lose
the touch bar and will see the return of physical
keys to me I do and I don't like the touch bar
for using a 16-inch intel MacBook pro what I'm
using right now I could go back to physical
buttons if I had to however one feature I do like
and that is for example predictive tests like an
iPhone above the actual keyboard and I'd admit i
would actually probably miss this feature there
are also other changes Ku talks about as well
and he also believes there will be a wider range
of ports to reduce the need of so many dongles
needed to be connected to the actual MacBooks
to me personally how I think it will look minus
the MagSafe port we will get an additional two
times USB ports in other words the normal USB
port design with USB 3.2 technology that allows
up to 20 gigabits per second or transfers of up to
2.4 gigabytes per second then I also believe we'd
get HDMI port with HDMI 2.1 technology allowing
8k videos at 120 hertz or 120 frames per second
refresh rate but I also think we will get the
classic sd card back and also as well will get
the retention of the 3.5 headphone jack and also
just like the current MacBooks, we will keep some
of those USB-C ports and I think we'll get two of
them that will be using thunderbolt for technology
just like we're getting right now with the m1
MacBook and the Mac mini so for a release date from
coo and german we're looking towards the second
half of 2021 around September and October time it
is most likely we'll see updates to the iPad pro
and the iPad mini soon in the first half of 2021
before the max but do check out my Ipad videos on
my channel for more information about those pads
for price wise we expect the current bottom end
of the 16 inch i7 MacBook pro with 16 gigabytes
of ram and standard graphics to be the base
price for the new m1x MacBook pro-16-inch so
this comes in currently at 2399 dollars so then
for the actual specs of the 16-inch MacBook pro
there are two possible routes that apple
could take with their top-line MacBook pro
the first option is looking more likely than the
second, we have seen lots of new leaks and also
lots of other bits and pieces that will be
getting an m1x chipset a leak here from leaks
apple pro shows that the m1x will have a total
of 12 CPU cores, there will be a total of eight
performance cores and four high-efficiency cores
that will be coming to the 16-inch MacBook pro
basically what we're getting is an
increase of four more extra cores
on those performance cores what we got in the
m1 there were four eco cores and there were four
high-performance cores so it's just a
doubling up of those performance cores
personally based on apple's history of creating an
x chipset based on a chipset that already exists
it means that we're likely to get around about a
40 increase in speed take a look at the comparison
that we have here we have the a12 chipset and
the a12x chipset that's inside the iPad pro
now if you have a comparison here you can see the
a12x is about 40 percent faster than
the standard a12 chip like we get in the iPhone xs
models the iPhone XR and also the newest iPad 8th
a generation so you can see there is a big jump in
speed now we believe this is exactly what's going
to happen with the m1x compared to the m1 so I'll
say it again expect an increase of 40 percent more
power compared to the current m1 chipset that
we have right now what is still super powerful
now that leak is also missing one important
piece of info and that is about the graphics
now apple was not wrong in saying that the
current m1 had one of the best-integrated GPUs
inside a notebook or a laptop, however, compared to
a dedicated GPU so a dedicated graphics card it's
only about the power of an Nvidia 1050 ti what
is on the budget less powerful side of a graphics
the card that came out from Nvidia in yup you heard me
right that was five years ago 2016 and it was also
the budget graphics card from then so this means
Apple really needs to pull something out of the
bag to gain far higher graphics power than what is
currently in the m1 at the moment or even what's
currently in 2019 16 inch MacBook pro right
now this is something we'll have to listen out
more for over the next few months however there
is an alternative option that apple could also do
right now the 16-inch MacBook pro currently
does have two graphic chips inside it one is
an integrated Intel chip and the other is an AMD
5000 m series graphics card the AMD graphics card
only kicks in when high intensive
graphics demanding tasks are needed
but for the most part when you're actually just
for example, browsing the web or just you know
streaming videos for example you're actually
using the dedicated intel graphics chip inside
a similar setup could happen with the m1x
chipset and a dedicated graphics card from AMD
we'll use the m1x inside the MacBook pro for the
most part and we'll be reliant on the m1x graphics
to you know do all that work browsing the web
watching videos and looking at pictures and
whatever but then when we're actually doing pro
tasks so this is for example exporting videos
or you know fiddling around with photos with
raw photos for example than the MacBook pro
would switch over to the AMD dedicated graphics
cards so you're probably wondering at this point
well what graphics card will AMD and apple most
likely put inside this new 16-inch MacBook pro
well we believe it will probably be a mobile chip
a version of the big Navi AMD graphics card that
was announced at the end of 2020 the new big Navi
desktop graphics card run at around 16 teraflops
so it's believed that the mobile version of this
graphics card could probably run around about
8 to 10 teraflops so to put this into perspective
the m1 chipset graphics runs at 2.5 teraflops
and the current AMD 5600m graphics card that you
find right now in the current 16-inch MacBook pros
with an intel processor run at 5.3 teraflops so
combining a 2.5 teraflops integrated graphics
the card on the m1x combined with an AMD dedicated
graphics card running at 10 teraflops you're gonna
get some absolutely incredible power coming out
of your MacBook now one other note to add here is
apple love to claim how efficient and how great
battery life is inside the MacBooks as the m1
is very power efficient and for most of the tasks or
everyday tasks that we use them for then it is
super super efficient that we are getting massive
battery gains compared to the intel chipsets that
we had before now it seems likely that as the
16-inch MacBook Pro is actually a bigger model
we will have a slightly bigger battery inside it
yes the chipset will be slightly more powerful
but remember we have got those efficiency cores
what will be based on the same architecture as m1
so we believe we'll probably get a battery
life if you squeezed it out so this is just
web browsing if it's for streaming and things
like this, you could get 22 hours of doing light
tasks on your MacBook pro-16-inch was absolutely
incredible however when you do those pro tasks
and you really do have to you know do 8k video
or raw photo editing then that battery life
would reduce quite a bit I must admit so just
also a quick recap of when to expect new macs
over the next year or so so following the mac
mini the MacBook air and the 13-inch MacBook pro
like ming-chi Ku believes the next max again and
apple silicon processor will be the MacBook pro
16-inch and with that will be the rumored 14-inch
MacBook Pro in addition to the new processor this
The 14-inch model will gain a completely new form
factor design according to coo those macs are
likely though to be updated until mid-2021 though
the coup also suggests that these new MacBook pros
models won't ship until the late second quarter
of 2021 or the third quarter of 2021. if you're
wondering where the mac desktops figure up in this
lineup coo has made no announcement relating to
apple's plan to transition desktop macs such as
the iMac with the Imax just being updated with
newer intel processors in august time it does not
seem likely we'll get an update to those macs for
quite a while so it seems likely the iMac won't
see apple silicon processors until late 2021.
the coup is usually accurate though he said back in
March 2020 before apple announced a transition
from intel that the new termbase max could arrive
before the end of 2020 and he was right so are you
excited about the new silicon 16-inch MacBook pro
and will you be getting one soon after launch or
will you get another m1 MacBook to let me know
what model you plan to buy well guys that
is the latest and greatest info we have on the
16-inch MacBook pro silicon line at this stage
