Depicting attackers as 'monsters', head administrator Sheik Hasina on Tuesday said the legislature needs to incorporate capital punishment in the significant law to spare young ladies from these monsters.
"The attackers are monsters as they display their coldhearted nature influencing our young ladies … we've altered the law and included the death penalty for assault… we've cleared the change [proposal] in the bureau," she said.
The PM said this while tending to a program denoting the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2020.
The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief orchestrated the occasion at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium. The leader went to it from her official habitation Ganobhaban.
As Parliament isn't in a meeting now, Sheik Hasina stated, the legislature is declaring a law to make the change compelling. "It's our mean to confront any issue when it emerges and resolve that," she said.
